**I will be performing at PeaceFest ’08 at two separate times and locations on Sunday Aug 17th:
- 8:00amSLT: Woodstock Stage hosted by Lynsey Fleury
- 8:00pmSLT: HatHead Island Stage
Hope to see some varying faces at these concerts as we all come together to raise funds for many charities, UNICEF, Amnesty International, One.org…just to name a few. Check the SL PeaceFest Blog for updated numbers of total donations. It’s an exciting thing to see the community coming together as it does for festivals such as this one. Another thing that makes SL such a great place.
Please be sure to submit your photo’s of performances to my Cylindrian Flickr Group with the Date and Location SLurl of the events, this way if people like the ambience or look of the establishment, they’ll know where it is and how to get there….and also…it helps me remember the moment too. Being that I perform so much in so many different places, its so nice to have that log. Thank you to all who post photo’s. It really means so much to me that you take the time to do so.
HOP ON THE PEACE TRAIN – DESTINATION PEACE
SL PEACEFEST ’08, a benefit event for worldwide peace, will take place on August 15th, 16th and 17th of 2008. Starting at 10AM SLT on the 15th and ending at 11:59 PM on the 17th and covering more than 10 sims this festival will feature live music, theatre and dance performances, art exhibitions, panel discussions and a rally at the Peace Park in SL Central Park. Master schedules for these exciting events will be posted at http://www.slpeacetrain.org
SL PEACEFEST ’08 is a global, interfaith, cross-cultural effort to create lasting peace through mobilizing support and learning for RL Peace organizations. All proceeds from SL PEACEFEST ’08 will go to benefit Amnesty International, UNICEF, World Peace Organization, World Council On Religions & Peace, Kids for Peace, and One.org.
This event represents a true cross-over from RL to SL and back again as we bring RL speakers in-world to discuss peace related initiatives in our global open and free SL forum. Musicians and speakers will be streamed in SL while panel discussions and performances are streamed back out.
Comments and suggestions are welcome (please send in notecard form). Planning meetings are currently in progress. If you are interested in this project, please consider donating some of your time and effort. Our group is the Peace Train and this is the first of what we hope will be many successful SL events in the cause of peace.
This is more than an event, it’s a journey….destination peace!
